5 GUYS YOU MEET IN CAMPUS AND WHAT THEY TEACH YOU ABOUT LIFE
Its three years since i joined a public university thanks to an olive branch extended by the state in its attempt to widen access to university education.Much as changed to be precise, campus life no longer follows the pre-university envisaged life stereotypes, campus back then meant a higher education with limitless time to burn and a couple of free public amenities at your disposal.Fast forward to current times, campus life is characterised by secondary and casual student interactions, some of this interactions offer long life lessons, ones that do not come by sieving through huge chunks of Socrates's philosophical works. Some of the guys i have met have informed my writing of this blog post. Some of them have changed the way i look at look life's real issues while some have left me more conservative than i have ever been.
At the top of the list are nerds, they are the type of guys who are overly intellect, lack a bit of social skills but compensate for their lack of social skills in the way they sieve through huge chunks of academic journals, scientific reports and publications. They are the sort of guys you go to if you want intellectual and alternative simulating public discourse on the latest political, social and economic issues,in my time at the university i have learnt that the nerds represent a section of life's travellers who often offer new insights on how things can be done differently.Primarily they exist to reinforce the idea that life lived along liberal and alternative lines is more fulfilling and adventurous.
On the second spot are the active dreamers, this are the sort of guys who hold on to the hope that that today's events are the altered visions of their better futures. they distinctively come from the most remotest parts of the country, parts of the country that have lived their entire life on poor roads,Internet and electricity black out and until recently got their shot at university education. They represent the life's most tough and battle hardened brigade, they draw their inspiration from today's unwelcoming realities and experiences and use it to shape the future's unknown complexities. With their first shot at university education this guys are transforming societies with their liberal ideas and gene- coded resilience. They offer an important life lesson, one that shows you that inequalities are human induced and that inequalities can only be reduced when humans put on their humanitarian gears and do what is primarily expected of them.
Below the active dreamers are the politicians, sounds a little offtrack already but believe me campus life is deeply integrated with politics.Strikingly different from national politicians, campus politicians provide an alternative perspective on political activism. They are the sort of guys who resort to violent political activism if their negotiation ends of bargain are not met. This is usually driven by the failure of university administration bureaucrats to address the real issues behind students grievances, This crop serves to teach you that in life some things can only happen with a little patience and sometimes aggressiveness gets you what you want done and fixed.
The hustlers, this are the type of guys you meet in any campus always with a sharp business acumen and an entrepreneurial streak. They solve problems that seem to go unnoticed and offer student consumers an alternative consumer experience, one which is flexible and consumer centrist. Hustlers derive their success from personal initiative. In campus hustlers come as jacks of all trades, the kind of chaps who deal in literally everything that a student would want. They offer quick consumer action plans to any student on any budget plan.Hustlers teach you that life is a problem solving journey and one that needs a quick action plan to be successful.
On the bottom trail of the list are social guys, this are the type of guys you meet first and you feel like you have been friends for a while.Conversations are like keying in your smartphone's password .Social guys do not have socially constrained limits they interact with everyone both on and off campus. They represent a kind of new thinking that to get people you need to be one.Social guys teach us that some of life's trappings are actually trapped inside people and that to unlock this locked resource potential, it needs a concerted and deliberate action plan to burn our bridges, the bridges of constrained socialisation limits.
